Junior Technician
Learn the trade on the job
Are you technically minded, do you enjoy working with your hands, and would you like to learn a trade where no two days are the same? At Blue Orange in Schiedam, we will train you step by step to become an independent technician specialising in coolers and heat exchangers.
From day one, you will work alongside our experienced technicians. Both in our workshop and on-site at customer locations, you will learn how to inspect, dismantle, clean, repair, test and prepare equipment for operation.

What will you be doing?
As a Junior Technician, you will learn everything about maintaining and overhauling heat exchangers. You will work on a wide range of equipment for customers in sectors including maritime, industry and horticulture.
One day, you may be working in our workshop in Schiedam; the next, you could be visiting a customer together with a colleague. This could be a vessel in the Port of Rotterdam, an industrial installation or a site in the horticultural sector.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting and dismantling coolers and heat exchangers
- Cleaning equipment using various professional cleaning methods
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance
- Replacing gaskets and other components
- Testing and checking equipment
- Reassembling and preparing equipment for operation
- Recording work carried out and results in reports
Of course, we do not expect you to know how to do all of this yet. We will teach you.
Who are we looking for?
Above all, we are looking for someone who is eager to learn and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves.
You:
- are practical, hands-on and interested in technology;
- enjoy working with tools and carrying out technical work;
- are eager to learn and want to understand how things work;
- enjoy working together with colleagues;
- have an eye for quality and safety;
- are able to communicate with customers in a professional and respectful manner;
- have a good command of Dutch and live in or around the Schiedam area.
Experience with heat exchangers is not required. Your motivation to learn the trade is more important to us.
